What does this objective mean?

As an educator perhaps the most helpful tool accessible to you is resources. Whether those resources are your colleagues, online articles and peer-reviewed journals, or different books, all are important when it comes to coming up with new lesson plans and

finding new material. Finding and analyzing new information and sources is a big part of being a successful educator, but what makes a good educator is those who can make connections between those sources and your class or standards of learning.

Why is this objective important to teachers?

Not only is it a smart idea to use outside sources and get other teachers’ insight on different materials and activities, it is rather important to keep up with new information in order to have the most recent studies, statistics, and other content knowledge prepared for your classes.
