Studying Abroad in England and France:

During my time at Roanoke College, I was fortunate enough to be able to study abroad in England and France. Roanoke has a program called "May Term" where they encourage students to expand their studies by really engulfing themselves in a culture in order to learn more about a subject. They offer a variety of intensive learning courses both on and off campus. I had the privilege of studying Art History, Architecture, and Classic Literature in England and France during May of 2014.

My time spent abroad was absolutely amazing. The things I got to see and experience first hand were incredible. It provided such a gained perspective when applying the subjective course material to our own lives. I was able to expand my knowledge of Art History, Architecture, and Classic Literature, as well as just learn more about European Culture--both 17th and 18th century and modern day culture.

I got to meet new people, see the world's most renown works of art, stand where great historical events took place, and observe the influence these things had on today's ever changing lifestyle and culture. It was amazing and provided me with such a first hand experience as well as appreciation for different cultures and subjects.

It was the best trip of my life and I am forever grateful I had the opportunity to be a part of it.
