Example from my student teaching:

While student teaching I was in charge of creating an activity to address the Common Core reccommended vocabulary for my students; two of these words were "advertisement" and "propaganda." Using the skills I learned as a history major, I was able to effectively guide the students through a preliminary examination of source analysis, prompting them to find the bias in propaganda and asking them to consider what they accepted as true given the background of a piece of advertising. Below is an example of a flipchart page, which modeled a final project on the two vocabulary words for the students. They created their own advertisement and propaganda for a play we produced as a class, and then we discussed how their personal bias or opinion was reflected in the advertisements and pieces of propaganda they designed.
