Example from my internship:

While I was an intern at the Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts I created a science lesson to teach the Scientific Method. This lesson is a great example of the key elements of lesson design, because it included explicit direct teaching, a hands-on, collaborative, activity for the students, and embedded assessment for me to see how well they learned the content. It was especially important for me to include these elements listed in the Roanoke College lesson plan format, because without that structure the lesson would have fallen apart when it came time for the students to experiment on their own.

For this level of collaborative work I grouped high and low students together, so all groups were evenly balanced.
