Example from my internship: 

 

During my internship I produced and taught a unit on literature circles for my second grade class. The design encompassed four different groups, each leveled for ability, which supported the constructivist goals of collaborative learning with individual accountability. At the end of the unit the students were asked to develop their own comic book based on their individual summary of the story, which encouraged personal reflection, problem solving, and information synthesis without reliance on direct instruction.
