Example from May Term:

At the end of my May Term experience at the Hilton Head Island Elementary School for the Creative Arts I completed a self-evaluation of my classroom management skills. In this evaluation I discussed what worked and what didn't work during my time as a leader for the after-school program. One of the management strategies I noted as a strength was the flexible grouping strategy, particularly when used for small-group responses to text. I also reflected on the importance of taking a disruptive child out of the classroom for discipline so he or she does not impact the instructional time for the rest of the class.

This project was an important foundation for my continuation of strong classroom management when beginning my student teaching. It is a good example of my ability to monitor and adjust my own tactics in the classroom, so I can constantly be striving for greater effectiveness.
